On a weekend in Somerset, it's already mysteriously in the air. And on the ground naturally. I was thus inspired to pull up some inspirational imagery for the season. Nothing strenuous. Just a few table settings, interiors, and a touch of fashion to get in the mood. The colors as E.E. suggests shift through orange. Ranging from neutrals to browns. Eventually. Bubble: Luxury 'Camping'

Until today, I was pretty much sure I had seen it all in the past year or so. But alas, I remain constantly surprised. This is the Cristal Bubble by BubbleTree. Designed by Pierre Stephane Dumas. I'm not sure I can even call it a tent but it assumes the same function. And must I would imagine represent the highest end luxury tent you could find. Quite chic, isn't it. For people who want to get as close to nature as humanly possible without breaking a nail, I think your dream just came true.

Let's get into a few logistics. It runs about $9,000-$17,000 USD. Apparently there are a few bubble options and bubble combinations available. For instance you could have a multi bubble. For those of you thinking what I was thinking about the interior temperature, there is an air movement system for controlling it. So it doesn't get too hot, or too cold. And if you don't want to own your own personal bubble, you can rent one for events. To date I've seen weddings, nightclubs, and corporate gatherings. Yes, all with bubbles.

Now, the bubble also made me think. In an increasingly transient and non locational world, isn't the bubble is a perfectly contemporary object? I can imagine setting up a computer in the bubble and working from one of the below locations for a few weeks.

Since most of us will be spending some time outdoors and out of the city or at the beach these next few months, here's a great few outdoor inspired summer table settings. For everyone's little get togethers. Though some of these could also be appropriated for weddings equally as well I think. The concept is simple. Keep things bright, light, airy, and white based to allow the strong effusiveness of the summer light. Natural and textured beige or wood can be mixed in to create a tonal and textural range and to give some feel. Gandia Blasco: Modern, Chic, Elegant And Refined Outdoor Furniture

There are a couple of reasons why I look to Gandia Blasco for inspiration regarding outdoor furniture. First, everyone loves an outdoor canopy or tent. They're sexy, romantic, neat, chic, and very elegant. They're somewhere in between being architecture and furniture. Which I also love about them. With Gandia Blasco, there's even the Crystal Box which is a little closer to temporary structure. Very cool.

On a smaller scale, I included some table and chair examples to demonstrate how clean the design is in general. It's very refined, and I think even at the smaller scale implies a certain lifestyle. Something I really like about this brand. He's tall, thin, classical, and modern. All at the same time. You can put him inside. You can put him outside. He's indifferent to fluctuation in temperature. You can even stack him on top of himself. He's a Kartell, designed by Philippe Starck. Hence the Baroque quality. I love it.

This is a landscape project I developed in conjunction with The Sponzilli Group for the Trump residence. I also developed the 3d for the project, which came out quite nice I think.

Though clearly the estate is classical in nature, we tried to keep the design clean. And in that sense, contemporary. The geometrical nature of the layout is treated strictly and thus plantings are almost excessively ordered. A statue is used, but only once. In a powerful, singular, and thus abstract manner. Elements typically designated as interior in nature such as the canopy bed are brought outside to make the garden livable and chic. All in all, it's a project which I think demonstrates the ability of design to straddle classical and modern tendencies simultaneously.
